We are people who are passionate about mortgage fraud.  From law enforcement and investigative backgrounds we have come together to facilitate the fight against this crime that has placed our nation on the brink of financial disaster.  We believe that this battle can best be fought as a team.  For that reason, we have created this website as a forum through which mortgage industry professionals, investigators from law enforcement and private industry, and consumers – borrowers, homeowners, and tenants – can find the tools they need to understand, prevent, and investigate mortgage fraud.

The creators of this website are David L. Fleck, Esq. and Chris Christopher, a retired fraud detective.

David Fleck is a former fraud prosecutor from the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, Major Fraud Division. In 10 years as a deputy district attorney he tried over 50 cases in front of juries and prosecuted cases involving insurance fraud, mortgage fraud, identity theft, forgery and other white collar crimes. In 2009, the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators named him Prosecutor of the Year in Southern California for his work in the LADA Real Estate Fraud Section. Recently he began working as Of Counsel with the Law Office of William M. Rudow, which represents major financial institutions and the FDIC in mortgage loan fraud recovery litigation.  Mr. Fleck graduated in 1997 from UCLA School of Law.

Chris Christopher retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department after 26 years as a deputy and detective. During the last 18 years of service, he investigated fraud cases including insurance fraud, mortgage fraud, credit card fraud, cloned cellular phones, and counterfeit products.  Mr. Christopher has worked with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and the California Department of Insurance.

In 2008, the State of California enacted legislation drafted by Mr. Fleck and Mr. Christopher to close loopholes that were exploited by white collar criminals. They also helped design and now co-teach the only state-certified mortgage fraud course for California law enforcement officers. Mr. Fleck and Mr. Christopher have advised federal agencies and financial organizations on crime trends and preventive measures.  More recently they have collaborated to create a risk management consulting company, www.FraudInsightConsulting.com.
